Still the one!

I'm terrible at expressing my feelings.. and yes, I AM a girl.  I know I should be able to do these things.  But, I just can't seem to find the right words.  I can write though. I think that I'm better at writing than speaking because I can plan out what I'm going to say, and if it doesn't come out right...well, then I can just  delete.  But anyways, I thought Josh deserved a post. So, here goes!

A post about Josh was inevitable because he's so much a part of my life.  He's the type of guy that every girl wants to hang out with (literally).  And, I'm so proud to call him mine!  :)

I'm not quite sure what about Josh I was first attracted to.  Maybe those golden locks!  Ow Ow!! Or maybe those ocean blue eyes! Wowza!  o.O  Those things DEFINITELY played into the first impression, but I'm not really that shallow.  I began to fall in love with Josh as we grew into a relationship with not only each other but also our Christ.  I got to see him praying for things that some grown men don't even pray for.  And we prayed.  WE prayed.  That's when I knew he was perfect for me.  I fully believe that God brought us together, and that he's the one keeping us together....and have been together for almost 4 years! I couldn't have asked God for a better man.


My mom always told me something that she said my grandmother always told her.  And that is "Don't stop looking for your perfect man until you find one as good as your Daddy".  What they say about mamas is true.  They really do know best!  Josh is still growing as a person, and so am I, but I truly believe that I've found someone as good as my father.  And I have a WONDERFUL dad, so those are hard shoes to fill!

Ah, the things I could say about Josh King.  He's my best friend.  My rock.  My heart.  My jokster!  I love him with all my heart, and will continue to love him as long as he'll have me.

A Post for an Inspiration!

There is a wonderful girl, Janna King, who has recently been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.  She is only 23 years old, and graduated from high school only a few years before I did.  She has been on my mind lately.  Janna is a role model for me and many others who know her through our hometown and those who know her from college.  She has always been a very positive person.  Always looking at the glass as half full.   Her positive outlook on something as dim and dark as ovarian cancer has inspired me.  We all go through tough situations, but I keep thinking...."Is it really THAT bad?"......................

One thing that keeps me going (and I know keeps Janna going from her posts on FB) is that our joy and hope is placed in the Lord.  Because "He knows the plans he has for us".  "Plans to prosper and not to harm us.  To give us a hope and a future."  We can be joyful in the life that Christ gave us, because He gave it to us...not someone else.  He's got the whole world, the wind and the rain, the momma and the daddy, the itty bitty baby, and even ME in His loving hands!  No wonder they teach us that song as youngsters!

So, this post is for Janna!  Keep being an inspiration for all of us weaklings! You're stronger than I could ever hope to be!  Fight on!

Happily Ever After.........pssshh yeah right! Or can it be???

In my Marriage and Family class, our main project is the construction of a genogram that encompasses at least 3 generations of our family.  Well......I'm finding that my family is prrrrretttttttyyy boring.  But, I guess I should be appreciative of that.  My parents just recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary.  AND.....both sets of my grandparents have passed the 50 year mark.

Aren't all relationships supposed to be "Happily Ever After"?  That's what we're made to believe as young girls.  Some believe that 'true' love doesn't exist, I on the other hand, believe differently.  I still love princesses and princes falling in love and being happily ever after as much as I did as a little girl.  I love everything about a fairy tale, as I'm sure Josh would tell you.  In all seriousness though, I do believe that we can have our own happily ever after's in REAL LIFE! I've experienced my parent's happily ever after, and my grandparents' happily ever after.  I mean, I'm sure there were some bumps along with way to 50 years.  Everything can't happen like to storybooks tell us they do.

I feel like I'm one of the fortunate ones, to have my parents still married.......but they're happily married, so I feel even more blessed.  No violence, abuse, cohabitation, separation, or divorce in my family (with the exception of one aunt, who now has a wonderful husband).  My genogram will be filled with solid lines, not broken ones.  It may be bore my teacher to death, but I have my family intact. And, that's all that matters to me!

WOW! My first blog post!

Never thought I would get into this....haha.  I just proved me wrong!  Blogging seems like a pretty cool way to get some thoughts out into the spider's web of information that we call "THE INTERNET".

Started this while sitting in the Beta/Gamma laundry room at the University of South Alabama.  (That's where I go to school) I'm majoring in Speech and Hearing Sciences.  My boyfriend, Josh talked me into this.  Thanks Josh!


Well, I'm not really sure what I want this to accomplish, but it WILL accomplish something.  It must! Probably just some random thoughts and ideas.  Not too much insightful knowledge, just some stuff I like and want to share!
